About 30 highly motivated kids got up early in the morning to meet up at Blue Tomato Shop Schladming to get their gear as quick as possible and hit the fresh snow up at the Superpark Planai. Remembering last year’s excited rush for the awesome rental gear, the shop-crew was well prepared and provided the freeski rookies with Völkl skis while the snowboarders were equipped with Burton boards at the “Kids on Snow” station.
While the snowboard beginners dared to pull their first turns up on the slopes with the instructors from “Kids on Snow”, the more advanced freeskiers and snowboarders went straight to Superpark Planai for some warm-up laps. Pro riders Viktor Szigeti, Martin Hauck and Alex Reiter coached the kids and showed them some of their most stylish tricks on the beginner boxes and kickers. Witnessing the pros, the kids were even more motivated to tackle new challenges. So the requirements for the upcoming shooting in the afternoon were perfectly set!
Sure, first of all shredding is a lot of fun, but it’s also physically demanding. That’s why the whole gang stopped at Kessleralm lodge for a bite to eat and some rest. As dessert, the rookies had lots of fun with the avalanche beacon supported treasure hunt and could show their skills with the little life savers by finding cool treasures and recovering them from the white powder up on Planai.
In the afternoon, the QParks Media Crew provided the rookies with the ultimate highlight: Every stylish trick was frozen on camera by the professional photographers and countless great memories of a special day at Superpark Planai were captured. Adding the cherry on top, all of the kids got a nice certificate and a goodie bag. In the end, everyone was super happy and proud of their achievements.
