The day started at 9am: All kids who did not own any equipment were given snowboards by Burton and boots by DeeLuxe. Plus, every young gun, and those who aspire to be one, got a free lift ticket.
Due to the big number of participants, the kids were split into two groups – advanced riders and beginners. The latter learned their very first turns in a sectioned area: “Today was my first time standing on a snowboard and I’ve already learned so many new things. I have to keep practicing my left turn though”, little Julia said. The more advanced riders on the other hand, have been training in the Superpark or in the Funslope Planai. The coaches made sure that each and every participant practiced, what they wanted to.
The kids refueled their energy during lunch at Kessleralm from 12pm to 1pm. Also, Blue Tomato supplied the little freestylers with free drinks and little treats, in order to make sure everyone’s set for a second session. In the afternoon, the kids kept on practicing and some even managed to stomp their very first tricks!
“Today’s a great day to snowboard. Some of the kids just started snowboarding and others are already advanced! But the one thing they all share is motivation!”, coach Nicola said. “Coaching was so much fun because all of the kids were super excited just like their parents! Snowboarding is cool, the kids love it and I’m happy about that!”
The session ended with a group shot at Kessleralm and afterwards, the crowd headed back to the Blue Tomato shop. At the shop, the kids were awaited by a little surprise. Blue Tomato had prepared sick goodie bags and a certificate for each participant! That’s how a super fun coaching day came to an end which might have sparked a passion for freestyle in the one or other young rider!
