Before you pack your gear and dive into action, proper board prep, adjusting your bindings and packing the appropriate gear is essential.
Ensure your board or skis are tuned with well-waxed bases (check the temperature and weather before you prep your gear). Your bindings should be adjusted for comfort and control (check your DIN settings!).
Don’t forget to check your boots and if they match your bindings – snug fitting but not too tight!
to ensure you pack all the essentials. Being prepared for the mountain weather is key. Temperatures in the Alps can change rapidly, so layering is a must. Start with a moisture-wicking base layer, followed by an insulated mid-layer (like a fleece or down jacket), and finish it off with a steezy, waterproof and breathable outer layer. You want to stay warm and dry, especially during an action-packed day at Superpark Planai.
Don’t forget to keep your grubby mitts warm, aka. Don’t forget a pair of gloves you like and keep you warm and dry (nobody likes frozen fingers or sweaty hands). What else? Goggles with a spare lens, other essential protection (like well-fitting back protection), some sunnies for the extra style sprinkle, and a helmet. Helmets are cool, we promise: “You only have one brain”.
We know what it’s like; riding Superpark Planai all day encourages us to forget about food and hydration. However, a good food break can make a big difference and enhance your performance. Nobody wants a hangry shredder around – there are a few mountain huts and restaurants near the park, such as the Berghotel Planai, where you can refuel yourself with hearty local cuisine.
If you prefer to bring your own, pack some snacks and plenty of water with some added electrolytes. Check out the article about what snags to bring - there's so many options!
